Starfield Library in COEX mall (Byeolmadang Library)

I'd like to introduce you to the Starfield Library in COEX Mall, also known as the Byeolmadang Library, a place that most tourists who come to Korea stop by.

I was there a couple of days ago for a study session, and it was nice to see that there was a wide variety of books.

And there were so many foreigners in here, so I decided to post here to let people know how good this place is.

Everyone can browse and enjoy themselves, it's not a library where you have to be quiet.

How do I get to the Starfield Library?

Starfield Library is located at Samsung Station on Line 2 of the Seoul subway system, in the COEX shopping center.

You will see the Starfield COEX mall if you get off at Samsung Station and follow the path that connects to the underground walkway.

It's located right outside the train station, so it's very easy to get there by driving or taking public transportation.

As soon as you arrive at the Starfield Coex Mall, you'll find a huge library on the ground floor of the mall.

 

At the COEX Mall's Starfield Library

The library is divided into a first and a second floor. It is accessed by an escalator and has a softly lit interior in shades of brown and beige.

Due to the large crowds, lifeguards are stationed in front of the escalator for safety.

 

Some of the best photos are taken on the way up or down an escalator with a beautiful book in the background.

In fact, visitors and locals alike line up to get a picture of themselves going up or down.

 

1st floor of Starfield Library

You can read on the stairs or at a desk on the first floor of the library.

Some people take their books out and sit on the stairs to read. There are desks with power outlets for those who want to use their laptops.

You can also use this beautiful space to take pictures while reading.

The library is not a quiet, heavy place to spend time. It's a free-spirited place.

Books are categorized by type. It's easy to find the book you want.

New Books of the Month, Literature Collections, Children's Books, and more have been categorized to make finding new books easy.

It seems that they did not only think about the beautiful atmosphere and interior, but also about how to make people feel.

2nd floor of Starfield Library

 

A sheltered area with desks overlooking the entire library is located on the second floor.

People come here to work, read and relax.

With this view and this atmosphere, I think I would be happy to do some reading or some work.

There's also a Starbucks on the ground floor. Why not grab a cup of coffee and relax?

Tips for Starfield Library in COEX mall

• Because it is so famous, it is best to go during off-peak hours, as there are a lot of tourists and locals.
• You can also use the space if you have some time to spare after you have shopped at Coex.
• It is best to order takeout and drink it in the library because the Starbucks on the first floor is usually full.
• During Christmas they put up a big tree. It's very pretty, so I recommend you go see it.
• The store has floor-to-ceiling windows, making it a great place to visit at night.
